Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Junior!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Bard!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Eliza Hachem and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bard takes a swing at Junior's ribcage but misses.
Junior throwing a counter right hand but Bard manages to avoid it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Junior. Bard does a little dance to reset his feet.
Junior ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A quick step to the side and Junior tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bard scores with a hook to the body. Junior takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Bard throws the left hand but Junior avoids the punch easily.
Junior uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bard.
Bard scores with a nice strike.
Junior goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Nice uppercut lands for Bard. That snapped Junior's head back.
Bard throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bard dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Bard slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Junior drives through with a takedown into Bard's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Our spies down at at Kung Pao inform us that Bard has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Bard is looking to regain half guard here but Junior keeps moving and retains side control.

Bard has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Junior has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Bard is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Junior defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Mike Bard was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
