Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Frederic Bastiat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ryan Turnbull!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Bart Greer and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turnbull moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Turnbull misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Nice sprawl there from Bastiat as Turnbull shoots in.
Turnbull dives in for a single leg takedown but Bastiat sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Turnbull has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Frederic Bastiat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Turnbull.
Turnbull shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bastiat defends it nicely.
Bastiat has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Walter J Abramowitz Center for Bigness in the buildup to the fight.

Bastiat forces Turnbull back against the cage and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bastiat has had enough of the clinch but Turnbull keeps him there for the moment.
Bastiat wants to break free but Turnbull has control.

Turnbull jumps into guard, dragging Bastiat to the mat.
Turnbull manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bastiat manages to get himself to full guard.

Bastiat is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Turnbull drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Turnbull jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Bastiat knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Turnbull on the ground.
Bastiat lands a good elbow from the bottom.

Bastiat is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Turnbull thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Bastiat keeping moving, preventing Turnbull from controlling successfully.
Bastiat working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Turnbull.
Bastiat looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Turnbull has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Turnbull thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Bastiat is looking to stand up but Turnbull isn't so interested in that idea.

Ryan Turnbull seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bastiat clinches up with Turnbull and pushes him back against the cage.
Bastiat wants to break the clinch but can't.
Turnbull tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Bastiat avoids it.

Turnbull decides to pull guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bastiat postures up in Turnbull's guard and throws a big left but Turnbull blocks it.
Bastiat is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Turnbull utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Turnbull is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Bastiat rolls with it to try and escape but Turnbull cranks on the arm and Bastiat is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
