Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Lee (ranked 590 p4p, 1250 weight class) and Raminus Polus (ranked 95 p4p, 190 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Polus looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lee tries to counter by clinching up but Polus breaks away and moves out of range.

Lee is pulling down on Polus's head. It's preventing any offense from Polus, at least for the moment.

Polus goes for an armbar but Lee turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Lee.

Polus has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lee can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Polus tries to buck Lee off but Lee is having none of it.
Polus gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Lee prevents Polus from improving his position.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Lee looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Lee slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

It looks like Raminus Polus has been cut.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Polus, as that shot connected.
Polus scores with a jab.
Polus throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Lee fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Polus manages to avoid it.
We've been told by Lee's head coaches at Ice Cream Parlour that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Lee swings for the body but Polus moves out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lee displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Polus throws out the jab.
Lee works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Lee just misses with a punch to the body.
Polus bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Lee drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Lee needs to keep his hands up - Polus had a free shot at his head there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lee scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Lee misses with an uppercut

and Polus holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Polus blocking some punches.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Polus doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Polus blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Lee tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Polus avoids it.
Lee looking to stall.
Polus fails to pull guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Raminus Polus will probably get the nod - 10:9.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Polus uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lee.
Polus checks the leg kick.
Polus changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Lee attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
And Polus tries to counter it with a takedown but Lee pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Lee swings for the body but Polus moves out of range.
Polus feints the counter takedown.

Polus has managed to clinch.
Polus makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Polus pulls guard effortlessly.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Polus looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Polus escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lee gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Lee wants to pass the guard but Polus is keeping the position.

Polus isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lee stacks Polus on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lee!
Lee is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Polus's shoulder. That is not cool.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Polus tries to bench press Lee off him but Lee keeps the position.
Lee controls the position.
Polus is trying to get back to half guard.
Polus is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Polus manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Polus wants to improve his position but Lee is controlling well.
Polus manages to get to full guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Polus is on top in guard.

Polus has gone for a leg lock! Lee slips out almost immediately though and dives into Polus's guard.

Lee is sitting in close to Polus's body. Polus has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Lee is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Lee is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Polus.
