Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Emel Arslan (ranked 6088 p4p, 4870 weight class) and Jamie Crossten (ranked 439 p4p, 398 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Emel Arslan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jamie Crossten! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Topper Green and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arslan throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Arslan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Arslan misses with the body kick and Crossten counters with a takedown into side control. Crossten happy to just control the position for now. Crossten working the strikes but Arslan uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Crossten is looking for a kimura here.
Arslan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Arslan avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Crossten. Arslan is trying to get back to full guard. Crossten trying to control from half guard but Arslan is working away. Crossten is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crossten is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Arslan defends it well. Crossten is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Crossten is working for a submission of some sort.
Arslan wants to control but Crossten is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Crossten throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Crossten looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Crossten is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Arslan looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Arslan takes a swing at Crossten's ribcage but misses. Arslan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Crossten.

Crossten displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Arslan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arslan takes the fight into the clinch. Crossten turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Crossten trying to control the action but Arslan is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Arslan manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Crossten looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Arslan is keen to just control but Crossten is a slippery customer. Crossten controlling the position well. Arslan looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Arslan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Crossten keeps working. Crossten desperately trying to maintain half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Crossten wants to control but Arslan is keeping busy.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Emel Arslan will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! Arslan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Arslan fails to land with a series of punches.
Emel Arslan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Arslan has Crossten up against the cage in a clinch.
Crossten pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Crossten moves forwards but Arslan connects with a nice, crisp jab. Arslan darts in and clinches Crossten up against the cage. Arslan tries a body shot but Crossten blocks it.
Arslan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Arslan shoots for a takedown but Crossten saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Arslan shoots for a double leg takedown but Crossten sprawls well. He's pushed Arslan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Emel Arslan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Crossten throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Arslan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Crossten is in Arslan's guard. Crossten postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Crossten in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arslan lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Arslan wants to control from the top but Crossten keeps moving. Crossten is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Crossten has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Arslan wants to control from the top but Crossten keeps moving. Crossten seems keen to control Arslan's posture. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Crossten manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Arslan on his heels. He'll look to pass Arslan's guard now, I'm sure. Arslan pushes Crossten off and gets back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crossten bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Crossten is breathing heavily. Arslan is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Arslan avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Crossten. Crossten seems to be working for a kimura but Arslan defends the submission attempt. Crossten thows a huge punch but Arslan dodges it nicely.
Emel Arslan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Arslan trying to get back to full guard but Crossten takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Crossten jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Arslan manages to avoid the submission attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Crossten trying to control the position but Arslan is working away. Arslan can't do much from the bottom here. Crossten wants to control but Arslan is keeping him busy. You can see the frustration on Arslan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Crossten in the domination position with Arslan hanging on. Crossten postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Emel Arslan will probably get the nod. That's time! Arslan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round! Crossten walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. A head kick by Arslan misses and Crossten counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Arslan has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Crossten should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Arslan has tightened it up now! Crossten should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
