Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Elrick Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Dante Fortune! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee tries to land a front kick but Fortune steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Lee pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Lee avoids the body shot from Fortune.
Fortune shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Fortune was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Fortune remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Fortune is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Lee looks calm but he's in trouble here. Fortune gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Lee is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Fortune lets go of the hold and Lee can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Dante Fortune!
