Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jack Frost!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Steve Burns!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Luis Engracia and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns throws a front kick that sends Frost stumbling back into the cage.

Burns closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Burns lands in his opponent's guard.

Frost pushes Burns off and scrambles back to his feet.

Burns rushes Frost and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Frost managing to block the knees to the body from Burns.
Frost dodges an elbow strike from Burns.
Burns tries to pull guard but Frost holds him up against the cage and eventually Burns drops back down to his feet.
Burns has Frost pressed against the cage, preventing Frost from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Burns escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Frost shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Burns pinned against the cage. Burns gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Burns is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Burns shoots for a takedown but Frost saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Frost shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Burns is trying to defend but Frost finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burns wants to get back to full guard but Frost has passed into side control.
Burns can't do much from the bottom here.
Burns is trying to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Frost remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Frost misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Burns is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Frost has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Frost has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Burns is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Frost yanks on the arm and Burns is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Frost.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jack Frost!
