Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luis Pinto (ranked 946 p4p, 736 weight class) and Sean Dickinson (ranked 148 p4p, 115 weight class). Dickinson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Resurrection - Chris Travis. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Luis Pinto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sean Dickinson! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jonathan Paton and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pinto swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Dickinson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pinto. Dickinson swings and misses with a shot to the body letting Pinto counter with a right hand. Pinto misses with a wild body shot. Pinto gets a clinch. Dickinson is trying to break free. Dickinson breaks the clinch.
Pinto moves out of range as Dickinson throws a body kick.
Pinto changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Nice uppercut there from Dickinson. Pinto goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Sean Dickinson has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pinto shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pinto showed some decent athleticism there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. We've been informed that Dickinson has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Dickinson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Pinto avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Pinto displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dickinson throws out the jab. and Dickinson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Dickinson takes one on the chin but seems OK.
A big right from Pinto misses. Sean Dickinson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Pinto throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dickinson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Pinto is in Dickinson's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. That's three minutes gone in the round. Dickinson controls Pinto momentarily but Pinto frees himself. Dickinson managing to control the position. Pinto might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Dickinson looking to control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Pinto looking to pass the guard.

Pinto ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Pinto loads up on a big right hand but Dickinson slips the punch. Pinto fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Dickinson throws a body shot but no joy. Dickinson ducks under a wild hook from Pinto. Dickinson throws out a counter right but Pinto avoids it with no problem. Pinto takes a swing at Dickinson's ribcage but misses. Pinto closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Pinto moves into full mount! Dickinson won't be happy about that! Dickinson tries to hold on but Pinto postures up. Pinto is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Dickinson has managed to escape the submission attempt.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Luis Pinto dominated that round. The cut man is working on Sean Dickinson's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Dickinson walks into a straight right hand from Pinto. Dickinson misses with a kick to the body.
Pinto keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Dickinson. Pinto darts in trying to clinch and Dickinson counters with a lovely straight right hand! Pinto missing with a left hand there. Dickinson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Pinto is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dickinson can do to turn this around? and Pinto counters with a takedown into side control. Dickinson explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pinto tries to clinch up but Dickinson circles away and keeps his distance. Pinto listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pinto moves in looking to clinch but Dickinson pushes him off. Dickinson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Pinto walks into a stiff left hand from Dickinson. Dickinson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Pinto shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dickinson as he jumps to the side. Pinto steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Dickinson. That one must have hurt. Pinto misses with a shot to the body and Pinto takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. A looping hook to the body misses from Pinto. Dickinson does a little dance to reset his feet. Dickinson throws a body kick that misses. Dickinson throws a front kick that sends Pinto stumbling back into the cage. Pinto is looking to clinch but Dickinson is avoiding it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dickinson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pinto manages to avoid it. Pinto misses with an uppercut. Dickinson saw that one coming. Dickinson gets off balance looking for a body kick and Pinto counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Dickinson! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pinto is looking to take a break and control but Dickinson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Pinto is really struggling to control Dickinson but he's trying to hold on to the position. Dickinson is pushing Pinto's head away, looking to escape. Pinto manages to hold on to the position though. Dickinson can't do much from the bottom here. Dickinson is trying to buck Pinto off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dickinson holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Pinto working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Dickinson is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Pinto tries to advance to mount but can't. Dickinson is trying to control Pinto's posture but Pinto avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Pinto tries to move into full mount but can't pass Dickinson's legs. Pinto is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dickinson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Dickinson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Pinto has just dragged him back down to the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pinto throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Dickinson struggling a bit here. Dickinson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Dickinson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Pinto asserts his dominance and retains side control. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Sean Dickinson will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Sean Dickinson's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round! Dickinson missing with a left hand there. Pinto was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Dickinson looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Pinto moves away and avoids it. As Dickinson backs away, Pinto returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Pinto fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Pinto fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Dickinson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. A looping hook to the body misses from Pinto. Dickinson does a little dance to reset his feet. Nice defenses there by Dickinson. Dickinson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pinto moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Dickinson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Dickinson looks for the body kick but Pinto saw that one coming. Dickinson lands with a kick to the ribs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pinto fails in his attempt to clinch. Pinto bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Dickinson bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pinto connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Dickinson throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Dickinson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Pinto is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Dickinson. Pinto is looking to clinch but Dickinson is avoiding it.
Good leg kick by Dickinson. Pinto has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Dickinson. Pinto looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Dickinson! Dickinson throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pinto tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dickinson was well out of range. Poor timing from Pinto. Dickinson moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Pinto misses with a hook. A little jabbing left from Dickinson on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Dickinson lands with a slapping head kick. Dickinson connects with a body shot that sends Pinto's belly button to the back. Pinto fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Dickinson. Dickinson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Dickinson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Pinto. Dickinson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Pinto lands a jab to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pinto takes a swing at Dickinson's ribcage but misses. Dickinson feints and then cracks Pinto's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Pinto down. Dickinson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Pinto was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Pinto gets cracked there but stands up to it.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dickinson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Pinto throws a body shot but no joy. Dickinson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
And that's the end of the fight! Sean Dickinson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Dickinson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
