Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marvin Gaston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Piers Chandler!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Anthony Taglia and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaston misses the shot to the body.
Chandler tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Gaston tries to close the distance and clinch but Chandler swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Chandler is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Chandler blocks a head kick by Gaston.
And Chandler tries to counter it with a takedown but Gaston pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Gaston is trying hard to land a takedown here. Chandler sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Gaston tries to clinch up.
Gaston shoots in but Chandler avoids the takedown attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gaston shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Chandler but Chandler pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marvin Gaston. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gaston shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Chandler sprawls well. Chandler wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gaston gets slowly back to his feet.

Gaston tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Chandler defends well and Gaston ends up having to push Chandler into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Gaston ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gaston no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Gaston will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Chandler would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
