The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smalls misses with a looping right.
Smalls misses with a hook
and Gay connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Smalls swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Gay counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Smalls listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Smalls throws a body punch but Gay moves out of range.
Smalls throws the left hand but Gay avoids the punch easily.
Smalls misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gay.
Gay swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Smalls swings widly with a right hand
and Gay counters with a left right combination that sends Smalls crashing to the mat - Gay wastes no time in diving on top of him and pounding Smalls out for a TKO! Devastating finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). The Gay!
