Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Stas Pushkin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bishop Brooks!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brooks gets the takedown into side control.
Brooks taking a breather here.
Brooks scores with a couple of short elbows.
Pushkin tries to improve position but can't.
Brooks decides to stand up, so the ref orders Pushkin to his feet.
Bishop Brooks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brooks fails with the takedown
enabling Pushkin to counter with a crisp jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brooks shoots in and drives through. Pushkin sprawls well.
Brooks misses with a takedown
and Pushkin counters with a nice uppercut.
Stas Pushkin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bishop Brooks.
Pushkin's jab looks to have found its range, popping Brooks under the eye.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Brooks shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Pushkin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Pushkin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Brooks.
Pushkin lands a slapping body shot.
Pushkin lands a right hook to the body.
Pushkin swings for the body but Brooks moves out of range.
Pushkin connects with a crisp jab.
Brooks is rocked!
Pushkin clinches up with Brooks and pushes him back against the cage.
Brooks is still on wobbly legs! Can Pushkin finish him?
Brooks's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Brooks is trying to pull guard but Pushkin has him pressed against the cage.
Pushkin breaks the clinch.
Brooks throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Pushkin counters with a huge left! Brooks is in big trouble! He's backing up but Pushkin isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Brooks from any more damage. A dominating finish by Pushkin!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Stas Pushkin!
