Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aung Siang (ranked 3775 p4p, 25016 weight class) and Ultimate Warrior (ranked 416 p4p, 715 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aung Siang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ultimate Warrior!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Siang misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Warrior counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Siang!

Warrior goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Siang rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Warrior's guard! Nice work there by Siang!

Warrior working for a triangle but Siang defends it easily.

Siang got a little sloppy there for a moment and Warrior has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Siang has managed to get both his arms back between Warrior's legs - danger averted.
Siang trying to control but Warrior is working from the bottom.

Warrior looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Warrior looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Siang seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Warrior has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Siang can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Siang throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Warrior works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Siang controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Siang wants to control from the top but Warrior keeps moving.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Siang is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Siang trying to control the position from guard on top but Warrior is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Warrior has his foot on Siang's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Siang works his way back into a safe position though.

Warrior is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Siang trying to control the position from guard on top but Warrior is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Warrior is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Siang is aware though and is defending well.
Siang controls from within his opponent's guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Siang throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Aung Siang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Warrior uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Siang.

A low kick from Siang misses

and Warrior counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Warrior preventing the sweep.

Siang is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Siang seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Warrior is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Siang is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Siang has escaped and now he's on top!

Siang passes Warrior's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Warrior looking for subs from the bottom but Siang mounts him!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Warrior is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Siang throwing strikes here but Warrior is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Warrior is trying desperately to improve position.
Siang controlling his opponent.
Siang sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Warrior working to try and regain half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Siang jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Warrior manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Warrior tries to buck Siang off but Siang is having none of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Warrior is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Siang's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Siang wants to lay and pray for a moment but Warrior keeps working.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Siang in particular looking to stall.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Aung Siang will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Siang looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Warrior gets full guard.

Siang avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Siang content to stall in guard here.

Siang drops back looking for a leg! Warrior is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Warrior manages to kick Siang off! Siang jumps back into Warrior's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Siang engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Siang avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Warrior isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Siang stacks Warrior on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Siang!
A lull in the action here.
Aung Siang overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Warrior tries to improve position but can't.
Siang in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Warrior manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Warrior is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Siang defends it well.
Siang is looking to control Warrior's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Siang avoid being mounted?
Siang on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Siang tries to get out of the position.
The fighters are battling for position here. Siang manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Warrior drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Siang manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Warrior has Siang in his guard.

Siang passes Warrior's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Warrior looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Siang perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Warrior looking for submissions off his back.
Siang stalling.
Warrior is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Siang's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Siang's back!

Warrior working for a choke but Siang is defending well.
Siang tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Warrior moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Siang has worked his arm free - good work by Siang!
Siang is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Warrior off and has taken his back!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Siang biding his time, controlling Warrior.

Siang looking to break Warrior's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Warrior remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Siang will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Aung Siang dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Siang content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Siang has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Warrior is looking to reverse the position.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Warrior is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Siang is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Ultimate Warrior has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Warrior looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Warrior actively working from the bottom here.
Warrior takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Warrior tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Siang has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Warrior tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Siang looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Siang controlling the pace for now.

Siang is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Warrior to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Warrior shrugs it off.
Siang thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Siang looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Siang takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Warrior is trying to reverse the position but instead Siang has taken his back - oops!
Warrior is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Siang is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Warrior is defending well though. Siang let's go of the attempt for now.

Siang biding his time, controlling Warrior.
Warrior tries to escape the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Warrior is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Siang tries to get the hooks in deep but Warrior pushed the leg off.
Good control from Siang.

Siang is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Warrior has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Aung Siang showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Siang has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
