The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
De Jong scores with a hook to the body. Martinez takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Horrible takedown attempt by Martinez or perhaps it was just good defense by De Jong, which made it look bad.
Martinez throws a sloppy head kick and De Jong moves out of range easily.
De Jong was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
De Jong keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Martinez takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
De Jong scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Martinez misses with a straight left.

Martinez gets tackled into the cage by De Jong. De Jong maintains the clinch.
De Jong is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Martinez is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

De Jong appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
De Jong bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
De Jong leaves Martinez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and De Jong counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Daan De Jong seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
De Jong lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Martinez or not.

Well De Jong has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
