Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Catchy Cartwright (ranked 4700 p4p, 5068 weight class) and Mister Poodle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Catchy Cartwright! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mister Poodle! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Poodle tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cartwright manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Cartwright blocks the body kick.
Poodle throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sloppy strikes from Poodle. Those never looked like landing. Cartwright appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Poodle throws a hook to the side of Cartwright's head but Cartwright sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Poodle closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cartwright to the mat! Cartwright manages to get full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cartwright looking for a sweep. Not yet Cartwright, not yet. Poodle trying to control but Cartwright is working from the bottom. Poodle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cartwright. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Cartwright working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Poodle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Poodle drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Cartwright dives on top into guard. Poodle is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Cartwright forces his way into half guard. Poodle trying to control but Cartwright postures up.
Cartwright is working for a submission of some sort.
Cartwright thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cartwright in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Poodle tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Cartwright!
