Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dakota Thibodeaux Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sonatane Veainu!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Sandra Marshall and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veainu throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Thibodeaux Jr stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Veainu misses with a shot to the body
and Thibodeaux Jr counters with a head kick. That will keep Veainu thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Thibodeaux Jr staying out of range there.
Thibodeaux Jr looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Sonatane Veainu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Veainu throws a shot from downtown. Thibodeaux Jr moves away and avoids it.
Thibodeaux Jr is looking to counter with head kicks.
Veainu swings widly with a right hand
and Thibodeaux Jr counters with a stiff right hand.
Veainu sends Thibodeaux Jr crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Veainu is motioning to the referee to let Thibodeaux Jr up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
It looks like Dakota Thibodeaux Jr has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Veainu finds Thibodeaux Jr's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Thibodeaux Jr flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Veainu lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Thibodeaux Jr will be OK.
