Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mandingo McMaggara (ranked 5054 p4p, 3935 weight class) and Mogens Pedersen (ranked 584 p4p, 490 weight class). The key to victory for Mandingo McMaggara has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mandingo McMaggara! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mogens Pedersen! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pedersen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming McMaggara to the mat! McMaggara manages to get full guard. Pedersen with a flurry of punches that miss. McMaggara definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pedersen stays in close to McMaggara's body and controls the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McMaggara is trying to control the position but Pedersen postures up. McMaggara looking to sweep here. No luck so far. McMaggara is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Pedersen looking to pass the guard. Pedersen advances to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pedersen prevents McMaggara from improving his position. Pedersen looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Pedersen controlling the action here. McMaggara wants to control but Pedersen is keeping busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pedersen keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. It looks like Pedersen might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. McMaggara is trying to maintain the position but Pedersen is very close to passing his half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Pedersen wants to pass the guard but McMaggara is defending well. McMaggara is looking for a sweep. Pedersen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Pedersen keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. McMaggara is looking to improve his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. McMaggara gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Pedersen controls from within his opponent's guard. McMaggara is trying to control the position but Pedersen postures up. McMaggara is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Pedersen postures up.
Pedersen sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McMaggara's guard. McMaggara makes his way to full guard. A much better position for McMaggara. McMaggara keeping full guard, as Pedersen tries to pass.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pedersen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. McMaggara wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Pedersen is now in half guard. Pedersen trying to control the pace. Let's hope that Pedersen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. McMaggara has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pedersen is working away from the top position though. McMaggara is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pedersen pulls his head out easily. Pedersen not doing much here.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pedersen in particular looking to stall. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Pedersen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Mogens Pedersen dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Pedersen gets the takedown into side control. McMaggara is trying to improve his position. A lull in the action here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pedersen tries to move to mount but McMaggara blocks the move with his legs. McMaggara is looking to regain half guard here but Pedersen keeps moving and retains side control. Pedersen has hold of McMaggara's arm. He's looking for a kimura. McMaggara seems comfortable defending it but Pedersen has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! McMaggara is real pain and he's forced to tap out! McMaggara is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Pedersen couldn't care less - he's delighted!
