Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tam Calderwood !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nolan Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz cracks a nice hook into Calderwood 's ribs.
Diaz uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Calderwood has time to react.

It looks like Tam Calderwood has been cut.
Diaz lands a nice shot to the body.
Diaz's coach down at Tez’s Stand N Bang ! was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Diaz's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Calderwood is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Diaz doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Calderwood .

Calderwood is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Diaz to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Calderwood drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Calderwood jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That was a close round but I would say that Tam Calderwood will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Diaz comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Diaz moves into range and connects with a jab.
Calderwood goes for a double leg but Diaz avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Diaz continues to drive forward.

Calderwood has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Diaz uses from the top position.

Calderwood isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Diaz stacks Calderwood on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Diaz!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Diaz manages to capitalize on a mistake by Calderwood to take his back!
Calderwood manages to reverse the position and now he's in Diaz's guard. Nice work there by Calderwood .
Calderwood is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Diaz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Calderwood can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Nolan Diaz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Calderwood get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Calderwood stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Diaz runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nolan Diaz!
After the fight, Nolan Diaz was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
