Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Finest Guy (ranked 3522 p4p, 3185 weight class) and Benjamin Sisko (ranked 459 p4p, 424 weight class). The key to victory for Finest Guy has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Benjamin Sisko!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sisko pushes Guy up against the cage in a clinch.
Guy tries to stall but Sisko uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
I was talking to Guy's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Sisko lands a shoulder strike.
Sisko tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Sisko lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Sisko tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Guy smiles and moves away.
Guy connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Sisko darts in trying to clinch
and Sisko takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Sisko looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Finest Guy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sisko swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big right from Guy misses.
Guy lands with an uppercut that bounces Sisko off the cage and back into range.
Sisko moves out of range of the strikes.
Sisko tries to counter with a clinch but Guy shakes him off and moves away.

Finest Guy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Guy wants to improve his position but Sisko is controlling well.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Guy takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Sisko has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Sisko lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Sisko tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Guy manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Sisko jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Guy walks away with a smile on his face. Sisko gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Guy looks to throw the jab but Sisko is out of range.
Sisko throws a looping overhand right but Guy ducks down to avoid it.
Guy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sisko.

Guy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sisko.

Guy throws an overhand right that lands on Sisko's shoulder, as Sisko tries to avoid the shot.
Sisko avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

and Sisko counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Sisko.
Sisko lands a hook that snaps the head of Guy backwards.

Sisko stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sisko tries a body shot but Guy blocks it.

and Sisko decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Guy's guard.

Sisko sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Guy's guard.
Sisko looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Sisko prevents Guy from improving his position.
Sisko wants to free his trapped foot but Guy is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Sisko is trying to control. Guy wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Sisko takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Guy won't allow Sisko to pass to mount.
Guy on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Sisko uses his free foot to push down on Guy's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Guy.

Sisko sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Guy is trying desperately to improve position.
Guy sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Sisko looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Sisko is trying to control the action in half guard but Guy is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Sisko is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Guy has hold of Sisko's hands but Sisko slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Benjamin Sisko is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Guy is trying to get back to full guard.
Still in half guard, Sisko seems content to control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sisko throws a jab but it's blocked by Guy.
Sisko wants to clinch.
It looked like Guy was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Sisko.

And that's the end of the fight!
Benjamin Sisko comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Sisko winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
