PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Glover (ranked 6150 p4p, 4406 weight class) and Dennis Casanova (ranked 580 p4p, 483 weight class). Glover comes to the cage accompanied by Enter Sandman. Dennis Casanova will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Glover takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Casanova throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Glover on the side of the head.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Casanova checks a leg kick.
Casanova lands a lovely overhand right.
Casanova misses with a body shot.
Glover connects with a body shot that sends Casanova's belly button to the back.

Casanova tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Glover was well out of range. Poor timing from Casanova.
A little feinted left hand from Glover on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Casanova shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Glover eats them both and turns towards Casanova to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Glover wants to slow Casanova down by chopping away at his legs.
Glover definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Casanova throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Casanova has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Casanova throws a looping overhand right but Glover ducks down to avoid it.
Glover throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Glover lands a big head kick that sends Casanova tumbling to the mat! Glover takes a step backwards and waves Casanova back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Dennis Casanova has been cut.
Glover throws a front kick aimed at Casanova's knee but Casanova avoids it well.
Casanova is still on wobbly legs! Can Glover finish him?
Glover walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Casanova checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Glover throws a lazy head kick
and Casanova counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Glover thinking.
Casanova misses with a series of wild punches.
Casanova seems to have recovered his senses.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Casanova unleashes a big counter combination but Glover bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Casanova takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Glover throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Glover moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Glover rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Casanova counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Glover thuds a left hand into Casanova's body.
Glover takes a swing at Casanova's ribcage but misses.
Nice straight punches there by Casanova. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Casanova.

Casanova will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Casanova throws out a loose jab but Glover uses good head movement to avoid it.

Glover shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Casanova feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Glovers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Casanova lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Glover uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Casanova.

Glover gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Casanova.
Glover takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Casanova is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Casanova comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Glover drops Casanova with a beautiful combination! Casanova stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Glover is looking for the KO!
Glover fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A swing and a miss from Glover.
Glover cracks Casanova with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Casanova tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Glover pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Casanova is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Glover!
Joe Glover spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
