The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacobs fails with a takedown attempt.
Jefferson swings for the body but Jacobs moves out of range.
Jacobs shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jefferson sprawls well. Jefferson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jacobs gets slowly back to his feet.
Jacobs blocks a head kick by Jefferson.
Jacobs changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Jefferson swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Jacobs shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jefferson defends it nicely.
Jayson Jefferson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kennith Jacobs.

Jefferson lands a big head kick that sends Jacobs tumbling to the mat! Jefferson takes a step backwards and waves Jacobs back to his feet - he wants the finish!

I was talking to Jefferson's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Jacobs is looking to take this one to the mat.

Jacobs seems to have recovered his senses.
Jacobs has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Jefferson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

In his post fight interview, Jayson Jefferson started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
