Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Kong (ranked 5144 p4p, 24598 weight class) and Chris Lowe (ranked 528 p4p, 639 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Kong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chris Lowe!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kong has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Lowe.
Lowe will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kong looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Lowe clinches with his opponent.

Lowe successfully pulls guard.

Lowe is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kong is aware though and is defending well.

Lowe manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kong manages to get himself to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kong wants to stand and escape but Lowe is having none of it.
Lowe pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kong is keeping the position for now.
Lowe throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Lowe postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Kong is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kong wants to get back to his feet but Lowe passes into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kong is trying to stand.
Lowe throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Kong might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kong won't allow Lowe to pass to mount.
Lowe thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Kong is trying to maintain the position but Lowe is very close to passing his half guard.
Lowe slows the pace down in half guard.
Kong tries to kick Lowe off but Lowe keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Kong kicks off Lowe and gets to his feet.
Lowe throws a right hand that Kong ducks under and follows up with a left that Kong also avoids with ease.

Lowe takes one to the chin there.
Lowe circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lowe with the counter takedown but Kong avoids it easily.
Kong fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Lowe looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Kong throws the left hand but Lowe avoids the punch easily.
Kong tries a head kick but it misses.
Kong lands a nice shot that snaps Lowe's head back.
Lowe will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

enabling Kong to counter with a crisp jab.
David Kong is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lowe avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Kong gets a clinch.

Lowe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kong throws a sloppy head kick and Lowe moves out of range easily.
Lowe shoots in and drives through. Kong sprawls well.
David Kong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Lowe.
Lowe checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Kong gets a clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lowe blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Lowe breaks the clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lowe is defended easily by Kong.
Lowe looks winded!
Kong lands a slapping body shot.
Lowe ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Kong moves into the clinch successfully.
Kong tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Lowe has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kong is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Kong throws an elbow that misses.

Lowe pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

David Kong dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Kong wants to clinch.
Lowe throws a counter combo.
Kong tests Lowe's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Kong tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lowe swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Lowe tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kong swivels and escapes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Kong pulls out of a head kick attempt.
And Lowe tries to counter it with a takedown but Kong pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Kong ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Kong wants to clinch up but Lowe keeps it at a distance.
Lowe misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kong checks a leg kick.

Kong moves into the clinch.
Kong lands an elbow inside.

It looks like Chris Lowe has been cut.
Lowe tries to pull guard but Kong won't allow it.
Kong on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Lowe fails to pull guard.
Kong pushes off an throws an elbow but Lowe leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Kong misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Lowe.
Kong is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Lowe is defending well for now.

Kong pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Kong wants to clinch.

Kong has managed to clinch.
Kong tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Lowe's elbow.
Lowe tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kong smiles and moves away.
Lowe shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kong pinned against the cage. Kong gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kong is looking to counter the offense by Lowe and move into the clinch.
Lowe shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kong as he jumps to the side.
As Lowe tries to get set, Kong tries to push him back and clinch up but Lowe manages to avoid the attempt.

Kong closes the distance and pushes Lowe back into the cage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


The fight moves into the clinch position.
Lowe tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kong just stands there and leans against the cage.
Kong is trying to break the clinch but Lowe has him pressed against the cage.
Lowe wants to take the fight to the mat but Kong manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Kong manages to break the clinch.
Kong lands with a nice body punch.
Kong tries to work over Lowe's front leg with a kick but Lowe checks it.

Kong clinches.
Kong is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Lowe is keeping busy.

Lowe breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Lowe has Kong pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kong manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Kong using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Lowe has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Kong is trying to push Lowe away but Lowe has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Kong pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lowe keeps the fight on the outside.

Kong pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Lowe drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lowe jumps guard but Kong turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Kong is pressed up against the cage. Lowe has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kong down to the mat. Kong avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Kong tries to close the distance and clinch but Lowe swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Despite the aggression on Lowe's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Kong throws a sloppy head kick and Lowe moves out of range easily.
Lowe appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Kong throws a head kick that misses.
Kong is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lowe can do to turn this around?

Horrible takedown attempt by Lowe or perhaps it was just good defense by Kong, which made it look bad.
Kong is looking to counter punch.
Kong cracks Lowe with an open hand slap.
Lowe darts in looking for a takedown but Kong gets double underhooks and turns Lowe into the cage.
Lowe fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Kong scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Kong takes a swing at Lowe's ribcage but misses.
Lowe shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kong but Kong pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kong pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Kong rushes Lowe and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Lowe jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kong walks away with a smile on his face. Lowe gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Kong tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lowe manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lowe wants to counter the offense by Kong and move into the clinch position.
David Kong is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Lowe circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lowe throws a fast counter high kick but Kong manages to duck under it in time.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

David Kong showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kong, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
