Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mauricio Ascaciba! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Cael Sanderson! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Santiago Holmes and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ascaciba lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Sanderson has his takedown stuffed and Ascaciba connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Sanderson scores with a takedown into Ascaciba's guard. Sanderson throws a big elbow that misses. Ascaciba on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ascaciba tries to get out of the position. Sanderson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Sanderson working the body and head with strikes. Sanderson working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. That's one minute gone in the round. Sanderson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ascaciba is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ascaciba wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Ascaciba takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Ascaciba knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sanderson on the ground. Sanderson lands a decent elbow from side control. Sanderson tries for a kimura but Ascaciba is defending well. A bit of a lull in the action. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Ascaciba is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
