Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wilhelm Van Hoodonk (ranked 2257 p4p, 2299 weight class) and Quinnen Williams (ranked 244 p4p, 251 weight class). Williams comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Here Comes the Boom kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wilhelm Van Hoodonk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quinnen Williams!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jorge Garcia and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Van Hoodonk tests Williams's chin there with a solid looking shot.

It looks like Quinnen Williams has been cut.
Williams misses with a jab to the body
letting Van Hoodonk counter with a right hand.
Van Hoodonk moves out of range of the strikes.
Williams misses with a hook
and Van Hoodonk counters with a stiff right hand.
Williams will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Williams lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Van Hoodonk at a distance.
Williams looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Van Hoodonk is fending him off so far but Williams persists. Nope, Van Hoodonk circles away and we're back to standing.
Quinnen Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Van Hoodonk throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Williams counters with a shoot takedown. Van Hoodonk fights it but they end up in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Van Hoodonk keeping moving, preventing Williams from controlling successfully.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Williams accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Williams won't allow Van Hoodonk to get back to his feet.
Van Hoodonk avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Williams with a flurry of punches that miss.

Williams not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Williams working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Van Hoodonk's head.
Williams missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Williams throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Van Hoodonk works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Williams advances to half guard.

Williams is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Van Hoodonk is just riding it out for now. Williams eventually gives up the hold.
Williams wants to pass the guard but Van Hoodonk is defending well.

Williams is just content to waste time from the top position. Van Hoodonk takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Williams pushes down on Van Hoodonk's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Van Hoodonk is looking to escape.
Williams thows a huge punch but Van Hoodonk dodges it nicely.
Williams working over Van Hoodonk with some ground and pound. Van Hoodonk looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Williams thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Van Hoodonk's head.

Williams is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Van Hoodonk sees it coming and defends easily.

Williams is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Williams maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Van Hoodonk could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Williams has cracked it and Van Hoodonk is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Williams!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Quinnen Williams!
A very excited looking Quinnen Williams rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
