Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Carrigeen (ranked 6579 p4p, 6220 weight class) and Piotr Pajak (ranked 656 p4p, 632 weight class). Piotr Pajak looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Carrigeen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Piotr Pajak! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carrigeen looks to score with a jab to the body but Pajak is just out of range. Pajak keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Pajak leaves Carrigeen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Daniel Carrigeen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Carrigeen throws a looping overhand right but Pajak ducks down to avoid it. Carrigeen gets in close and instigates a clinch. Pajak misses with an elbow strike.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pajak tries to land a knee to the head but Carrigeen blocks with his arms.
Carrigeen wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Carrigeen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carrigeen dodges an elbow strike from Pajak.

That's one minute gone in the round. Pajak is pressed up against the cage. Carrigeen has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pajak down to the mat. Pajak avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Carrigeen throws a big shot that misses. Pajak misses with a straight right. Carrigeen instigates a clinch. Pajak using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Carrigeen tightens his grip and picks Pajak up, before dumping him to the ground. Pajak manages to land in guard. Carrigeen trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Carrigeen is stalling in the full guard. Carrigeen connects with a couple of short punches. Pajak looks winded! Carrigeen sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pajak's guard. Carrigeen missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Carrigeen has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carrigeen winds up and cracks Pajak with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Pajak blocking the ground and pound attempt from Carrigeen. Carrigeen is taking a breather. Pajak says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Carrigeen looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Carrigeen is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carrigeen is working for a submission of some sort.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carrigeen is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Pajak reverses the position - he's now on top in Carrigeen's guard. Carrigeen wants to sweep but no luck. Carrigeen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Carrigeen in particular looking to stall. Carrigeen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Carrigeen with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Carrigeen is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Pajak has managed to free his arm - good work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pajak won't allow Carrigeen to pass to mount. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Carrigeen dominated that round. That's time! Carrigeen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Carrigeen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pajak is looking to clinch but Carrigeen is avoiding it.
Carrigeen is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pajak can do to turn this around? Pajak slips a straight right by Carrigeen. Pajak gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Carrigeen to score an easy takedown into full guard. Carrigeen looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Carrigeen working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pajak utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Carrigeen's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carrigeen landing with the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pajak is breathing heavily. Carrigeen stands up over Pajak, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Pajak is rocked! Pajak keeping full guard, as Carrigeen tries to pass. Pajak is still in real trouble! Can Carrigeen finish him? Carrigeen pushes down on Pajak's leg and manages to get into half guard. Pajak seems to have recovered his senses. Carrigeen scores with a big shot! Pajak's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Pajak! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Daniel Carrigeen! Daniel Carrigeen decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
