Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Catchy Cartwright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mister Poodle!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poodle keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Poodle is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Poodle tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cartwright swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Cartwright feinted with a counter takedown.
Poodle shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Poodle was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Cartwright tries to strike but it doesn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cartwright holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Poodle tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Cartwright is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Poodle is thwarting Cartwright's attempts to control the position.

Poodle with the ground and pound but Cartwright uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Cartwright is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Poodle trying to control the position from guard on top but Cartwright is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cartwright has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Poodle doesn't defend quickly enough and Cartwright has managed to lock this one up! Can Poodle escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Cartwright on a fantastic submission victory.
