Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Smashy Cartwright (ranked 3933 p4p, 3950 weight class) and Rexob Boxer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rexob Boxer is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Smashy Cartwright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rexob Boxer!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cartwright shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Boxer is trying to defend but Cartwright finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Cartwright lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Boxer looks like he's trying to stand up.
Boxer taking some punishment here, with Cartwright in his half guard.
Boxer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cartwright is working away from the top position though.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cartwright lands a nice short elbow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Cartwright connects with a nice short shot to Boxer's temple.
Boxer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Cartwright lands strikes from half guard.

Cartwright thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Cartwright lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Boxer wants to get back to his feet.
Boxer is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Cartwright scores with a couple of nice shots.
Cartwright working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Boxer is still in real trouble! Can Cartwright finish him?

Cartwright winds up and cracks Boxer with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Cartwright lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Boxer quite badly. Boxer pulls Cartwright in close trying to recover. Cartwright postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Boxer on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Boxer doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Smashy Cartwright!
