Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Heavy Rain (ranked 143 p4p, 175 weight class) and Scott John (ranked 26 p4p, 31 weight class). Rain comes to the cage accompanied by For Heavy Metal we will die!. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Scott John!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rain lands a nice looking body shot.

John has closed the distance and engaged Rain in a clinch.

Rain escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rain really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
John steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Rain. That one must have hurt.
Rain throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Rain ducks under a wild hook from John.
Rain has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from John.
Rain scores with a jab to the body.
John takes one on the button.
John takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rain plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
A nice inside leg kick there by John. That's going to slow Rain down.

That kick from Rain tenderised John's leg. John is trying to keep his angry face on.
John throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rain sees it coming and avoids it easily.
John misses with a leg kick
and Rain counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

John takes a shot to the body in his stride.
John keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rain.
Rain has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Heavy Metal in the buildup to the fight.
Rain bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Rain is looking to land body kicks.
John displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rain throws out the jab.
John has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Rain connects with a body shot that sends John's belly button to the back.
Rain on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
A solid body kick from Rain.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

John instigates a clinch.

Rain lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
John stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
John stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
John keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Rain's efforts to push away.
John putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Rain in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Rain breaks from the clinch.
Rain throws an overhand right that lands on John's shoulder, as John tries to avoid the shot.
Rain uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from John.
It looked like Rain wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
A punch lands to the side of John 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Rain sizes up John with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
A slow jab from John misses its intended target.
Rain is looking for a counter combo.
Rain lands with a hook. John tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
John throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rain quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
John misses with a left hand
and Rain counters with a straight right hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rain drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks John right on the button. John goes down! Rain follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Rain gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Heavy Rain!
Heavy Rain decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
Scott John was interviewed post fight and said 'Thank you, fans. Thank you, Pulse. That's it for me (as he lays his gloves on the canvas).'.
