Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Robbie Fowler (ranked 4763 p4p, 25064 weight class) and Max Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Robbie Fowler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Max Kerr! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kerr misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Fowler has taken the fight to the clinch.

Kerr has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Fowler is proving hard to escape from. Fowler pulls Kerr in close to prevent any damage. Fowler manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kerr manages to get himself to full guard.
Kerr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fowler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Fowler gets to his feet. Kerr looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kerr looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Robbie Fowler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fowler throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kerr's waist but Kerr gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fowler off to one side. Kerr displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fowler. Max Kerr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fowler shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kerr as he jumps to the side. A countering left hand to the body from Kerr misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robbie Fowler. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fowler moves into the clinch. Kerr struggles to land a body shot inside as Fowler controls his hands.

Kerr clinches up with Fowler and pushes him back against the cage. Kerr wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Fowler has him pressed against the cage. Kerr throws an elbow but it misses.

Fowler throws a strike but Kerr rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Kerr would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kerr wants to stand but Fowler is controlling the position. Fowler passes into half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Robbie Fowler will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Max Kerr's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Fowler will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Fowler looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kerr is fending him off so far but Fowler persists. Nope, Kerr circles away and we're back to standing. Fowler throws a jab but it's blocked by Kerr. Kerr lands a jab to Fowler's midsection. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kerr lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Fowler manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Kerr misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Robbie Fowler is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jab by Kerr. Fowler is looking to score with low kicks. Fowler shoots for a takedown but Kerr saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. A nice side step and Kerr releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Fowler tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kerr swivels and escapes. Kerr fails in his attempt to clinch. Fowler is looking to counter the offense by Kerr and move into the clinch. Fowler has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Kerr.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kerr lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kerr tries to clinch up. Fowler throws a quick counter kick to the body but Kerr avoids it. The fight stays on the outside here - Kerr looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Fowler takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Kerr tries to clinch up. Fowler gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A frustrated look appears on Kerr's face as he tries to break the clinch. Kerr gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Fowler.

Fowler blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Kerr stops a takedown attempt from Fowler.
Kerr breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Fowler throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kerr counters with a nice body kick.
Fowler clinches up with Kerr and pushes him back against the cage. Kerr tries to break free but Fowler pushes him back against the cage. Kerr wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Fowler tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Max Kerr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Max Kerr's cut. That's time! Fowler's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. Fowler tries to clinch but Kerr moves out of range. Fowler with a lazy takedown attempt and Kerr counters with a right hand to the body. Fowler instigates a clinch. Fowler escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Fowler has Kerr pressed against the cage, preventing Kerr from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Fowler throws an elbow that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kerr throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

A big right from Fowler misses. Fowler dives in and grabs Kerr's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kerr pushes down on Fowler's head and hops out. Kerr unleashes a big counter combination but Fowler bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Kerr tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Fowler seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Fowler shoots and misses and Kerr counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Fowler takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Kerr moves into the clinch. Kerr's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Kerr fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fowler, pushing him back against the cage.

Max Kerr seems to be getting the better of the standup. Fowler misses with a takedown and Kerr counters with a two punch combo. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kerr tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fowler paws at him with a jab and circles away. Fowler throws a lazy head kick and Kerr counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Kerr takes the fight into the clinch. Fowler prevents Kerr from breaking the clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! Max Kerr comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Kerr has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
