The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Royal throws a combination that misses
and Salim counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Royal misses with a wild combination.
Salim takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Royal rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Salim moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Royal tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Salim seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Salim in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Royal tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Salim!

After the fight, Aidamir Salim was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
