Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Stillwell (ranked 2317 p4p, 1889 weight class) and Riley Hatfield (ranked 284 p4p, 240 weight class). Stillwell comes to the cage accompanied by Burning Heart. Hatfield is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Alabama - Bishop Gunn. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Stillwell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Riley Hatfield!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hatfield connects with a body shot that sends Stillwell's belly button to the back.

Stillwell shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hatfield's guard.

Hatfield uses the cage to get back to his feet.

and Hatfield counters with a nice uppercut.
A head kick from Hatfield lands but Stillwell takes it in his stride.

It looks like Jason Stillwell has been cut.
Stillwell looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hatfield is fending him off so far but Stillwell persists. Nope, Hatfield circles away and we're back to standing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stillwell fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hatfield to the ground. Stillwell is now in Hatfield's guard.

Hatfield has his feet on Stillwell's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Stillwell throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hatfield tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Stillwell is in Hatfield's guard.

Hatfield has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Stillwell has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Stillwell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hatfield is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Hatfield lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Stillwell or not.
Stillwell is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Hatfield breaks from the clinch.

Hatfield tries to sprawl but Stillwell drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Stillwell prevents Hatfield from standing back up.

Hatfield manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Stillwell slips a straight right by Hatfield.
That kick from Hatfield tenderised Stillwell's leg. Stillwell is trying to keep his angry face on.
Stillwell gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hatfield counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Hatfield ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Stillwell shoots in looking for a takedown. Hatfield tries to sprawl out of it but Stillwell keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hatfield manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A big left from Hatfield misses.
Jason Stillwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stillwell fails with the takedown
and Hatfield counters with a right hand to the body.
Hatfield throws a body shot but no joy.
Nice sprawl there from Hatfield as Stillwell shoots in.
Stillwell closes the distance and clinches up with Hatfield, looking for a takedown. Stillwell pushes Hatfield against the cage but Hatfield circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hatfield looks like he wants to counter punch here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stillwell takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Hatfield is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Stillwell rather than just go for the knockout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hatfield lands a left and a right that send Stillwell crashing to the mat, dazed. Hatfield thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Hatfield connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Stillwell is rocked!
Stillwell bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Stillwell changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Oh Stillwell is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hatfield misses with a looping right.
Stillwell seems to have got his legs back now.
Hatfield uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Stillwell has time to react.

Stillwell looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Stillwell looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hatfield with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Stillwell is trying to control. Hatfield wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Hatfield told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Hatfield has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Stillwell is on him like a limpet, forcing Hatfield back against the cage.
Hatfield scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Stillwell goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hatfield prevents it.
Stillwell drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Stillwell tries to score a body lock takedown but Hatfield shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hatfield lands with a light punch inside.
Hatfield scores with a shot to the side of Stillwell's head.
Hatfield tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Hatfield breaks from the clinch.
Stillwell misses with a takedown
and Hatfield counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Stillwell off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Hatfield follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Stillwell was out before he hit the floor.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Riley Hatfield!
Riley Hatfield decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
