Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gholam Estili (ranked 1008 p4p, 749 weight class) and Mehdi Kanaani (ranked 136 p4p, 94 weight class). Estili comes to the cage accompanied by Ready For War (Instrumental). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gholam Estili!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mehdi Kanaani!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Estili lands with a hook. Kanaani tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
It looks like Mehdi Kanaani has been cut.
Estili moves away from the strike by Kanaani.
Estili definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Estili closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Estili lands in his opponent's guard.
Estili throws an elbow that misses. Kanaani uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Estili's guard. Nice move by Kanaani!
Kanaani postures up in Estili's guard and throws a big left but Estili blocks it.
Kanaani is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Kanaani stands up from Estili's guard - Kanaani perhaps looking for a knockout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Estili shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kanaani pinned against the cage. Kanaani gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
It seemed like Kanaani was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Estili doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Kanaani connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

A telegraphed right hand from Kanaani misses the target.
Estili has his takedown stuffed
letting Kanaani counter with a right hand.

and Kanaani lands a stunning uppercut that sends Estili to the mat!

Estili tries to kick Kanaani off but Kanaani keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Estili trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Kanaani throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kanaani jabs Estili right on the nose. Estili blinks but takes it well.
Estili shoots in but Kanaani avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Kanaani fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Estili, pushing him back against the cage.
Estili is trying to drag Kanaani to the mat but Kanaani just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Estili wants to take the fight to the mat but Kanaani manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Estili has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kanaani avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Estili's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Estili shoots for a takedown but Kanaani saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Estili walks into a left hand.
Kanaani comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

and Kanaani counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Kanaani stuffs the takedown attempt from Estili. Estili gets slowly back to his feet.

Kanaani moves in close and cracks Estili with a massive right hand! Estili, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Kanaani!
