The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Silva gets underhooks to prevent Carruthers's takedown attempt.
Silva comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
It looks like Deon Carruthers has been cut.
Carruthers has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Silva avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Silva scores a nice knee to the body.

Silva lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Silva works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Clinched against the cage, Silva lands a big elbow that drops Carruthers! The ref dives in to save him from more shots - Carruthers is complaining that he's OK but he was done.
