Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Buddy Barnett (ranked 5960 p4p, 25072 weight class) and Maclom Huff (ranked 631 p4p, 705 weight class). Barnett comes to the cage accompanied by Born Ready. Maclom Huff is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Buddy Barnett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Maclom Huff!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Sandra Marshall and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnett jabs Huff right on the nose. Huff blinks but takes it well.

Buddy Barnett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Huff throws a fast counter high kick but Barnett manages to duck under it in time.

Barnett looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Huff throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Barnett was covering up waiting for the punch and Huff finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Barnett wants to get back to his feet but Huff passes into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Huff is trying to control. Barnett wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Huff working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Barnett tries to kick Huff off but Huff keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Barnett might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Huff wants to take a breather but Barnett is having none of it.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Barnett regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Huff.

Huff shoots in looking for a takedown but Barnett manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Huff's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Huff closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Barnett loads up on a big right hand but Huff slips the punch.
Huff shoots for a double leg takedown but Barnett sprawls well. He's pushed Huff's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Buddy Barnett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maclom Huff.

Barnett dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Huff takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Barnett lands a lovely overhand right.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Barnett moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Barnett misses with a few strikes there.

Barnett throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Huff on the side of the head.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Barnett throws a series of strikes that have Huff backpedaling.
Maclom Huff is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Huff is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Barnett with a body shot.
Huff will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The fighters circle momentarily. Barnett darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Barnett fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Huff on the side of the head.

Huff changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Barnett tries to avoid it but Huff manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Barnett to the ground. Barnett escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
