Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roy Howdy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Drowning Pool - Bodies. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howdy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Alves pinned against the cage. Alves gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Alves moves in looking to clinch but Howdy pushes him off.

Alves shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Howdy looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Alves avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Alves wants to control from the top but Howdy keeps moving.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Roy Howdy will probably get the nod.

Alves feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Alves rushes Howdy and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Alves is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Howdy tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Alves just stands there and leans against the cage.

Alves manages to break the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Howdy misses with a body shot
and Alves counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Howdy throws a jab but it's blocked by Alves.
Horrible takedown by Alves or perhaps it was just good defense by Howdy which made him look bad.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Roy Howdy.
I think Howdy has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
