Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy D (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas Smith has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thomas Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Billy D! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Franklyn Lucas and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! D closes the distance and pushes Smith back into the cage. Smith looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! D drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
D is working for takedown but Smith is calmly controlling the position for now. D missing with knees to the body.
Smith gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from D.
Thomas Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Billy D. Smith wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but D has him pressed against the cage. D missing with knees to the body.
D drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Smith gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Knees in the clinch landing for D.
Smith blocks an elbow strike. D blocks an uppercut.
D throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Smith blocks it with crossed arms. Smith wants to break free but D has control.
D with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Smith has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. D avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Smith prevents a takedown attempt there.
Smith wants to get back to striking at distance but D won't allow it.
D has Smith pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Smith manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. D scores with a knee to the head.
Smith misses with a hook from the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. D has Smith pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. D pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Smith tumbling to the mat - D dives into Smith's guard. D stands and throws Smith's legs to the side, diving into side control. D is working Smith over with some ground and pound from side control. D working the ground and pound from side control. Smith could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. D is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Smith knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. D works to advance to full mount. Smith defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. D putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! D has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. D swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
