Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Davis (ranked 5525 p4p, 3442 weight class) and Billy Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bob has chosen Los Ninos de Sara - Vagabundo as his entrance music. Chris Davis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Davis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Billy Bob! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, John Roberts and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis shoots in but no luck this time. Bob steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Davis. Davis looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Bob defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Davis. Bob tries to counter by closing the distance. Davis tries to close the distance and clinch but Bob swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Davis doesn't succeed with the takedown and Bob counters by clinching up. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Davis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Davis is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bob gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Bob takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. The crowd are getting on Bob's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Billy Bob. Davis shoots in for a takedown but Bob shows good takedown defense. Davis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Bob tries to counter by closing the distance. Bob swats away the attempt to clinch by Davis. Bob is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Davis looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Chris Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Davis closes the distance and clinches up with Bob, looking for a takedown. Davis pushes Bob against the cage but Bob circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bob wants to counter the offense by Davis and move into the clinch position.

Bob slaps away a takedown attempt from Davis, before circling back to the center of the mat. Bob is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Davis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Bob counters by moving into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Bob's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Billy Bob showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. Davis shoots and misses and Bob counters by moving into the clinch. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Bob blocks the elbow strike.

Bob tries to counter with a clinch but Davis shakes him off and moves away. Bob slaps away a takedown attempt from Davis, before circling back to the center of the mat. Chris Davis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Billy Bob is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Davis dives in and grabs Bob's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bob pushes down on Davis's head and hops out.
And that's the end of the fight! Billy Bob comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Bob has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Billy Bob! After the fight, Billy Bob was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
