Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carvaleho drives through with a takedown into Zonta's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Zonta has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Carvaleho off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

A close round but Peter Zonta will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Carvaleho dives in and grabs Zonta's left leg, looking for a takedown. Zonta pushes down on Carvaleho's head and hops out.

Carvaleho lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Zonta fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Carvaleho manages to avoid it.

Carvaleho has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Carvaleho there as he acknowledges the shot.

It looks like Jose Carvaleho has been cut.

Zonta throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Carvaleho.
Carvaleho stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Carvaleho throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Carvaleho shoots in for a double leg but Zonta sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Carvaleho fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zonta manages to avoid it.
Carvaleho tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Zonta defends well and Carvaleho ends up having to push Zonta into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
