Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Djordjevic misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Shieh cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Shieh will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Djordjevic lands a nice looking body kick.
Shieh shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Djordjevic sprawls well. Djordjevic wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shieh gets slowly back to his feet.

It looks like Frankie Shieh has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shieh tries to score a power double leg takedown but Djordjevic sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Shieh somewhat.
Djordjevic has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad The Island in the buildup to the fight.

Djordjevic tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shieh was well out of range. Poor timing from Djordjevic.

and Djordjevic counters with a left to the body.

Djordjevic lets loose with a powerful body kick. Shieh will feel that in the morning.
Frankie Shieh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Djordjevic misses with a body kick.
Shieh darts in trying to clinch
and Djordjevic counters with a big head kick but Shieh shrugs it off.
Djordjevic defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Shieh.
It looked like Djordjevic was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Shieh.
Shieh shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Djordjevic pinned against the cage. Djordjevic gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Djordjevic rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shieh moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A nice side step and Shieh releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A nice leg kick lands there from Djordjevic.

Shieh misses with a jab, cross combination.
Shieh looks to land a combination but Djordjevic avoids it well.
Djordjevic appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

and Shieh counters with a head kick. That will keep Djordjevic thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

and Djordjevic counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Djordjevic winds up and cracks Shieh with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Djordjevic takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Djordjevic lands with a punch from half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Djordjevic connects with a nice short shot to Shieh's temple.

Djordjevic wants to work for an arm triangle but Shieh is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Djordjevic has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Djordjevic continues to stall.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

and Djordjevic decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Shieh's guard.

Djordjevic distracts Shieh with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Djordjevic is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Shieh tries to bench press Djordjevic off him but Djordjevic keeps the position.
Djordjevic is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Shieh can do to turn this around?
