Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 24 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Berto Kin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dutch Schultz! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schultz misses with a straight left. Kin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Schultz. Kin circles away from the clinch attempt.
Schultz ducks under a wild hook from Kin. Schultz gets a clinch. Schultz trying to land knees to the body.
Kin wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Schultz keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Kin's efforts to push away. Schultz lands a shoulder strike. Schultz misses with a short punch on the inside. Kin is looking to break free of the clinch but Schultz has double underhooks. Schultz lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
It looks like Berto Kin has been cut. Schultz prevents Kin from breaking the clinch. With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Schultz creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. That's two minutes gone in the round. A frustrated look appears on Kin's face as he tries to break the clinch. Kin working hard to break the clinch. Kin is trying to push Schultz away but Schultz has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere. A short left from Schultz. Kin is trying to break the clinch but Schultz is controlling him. Kin is breathing heavily. Kin is trying to force a seperation but Schultz has the dominant position. Kin can't break the clinch.
I was talking to Kin's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Kin is trying to break the clinch but Schultz is controlling him. A short left from Schultz. Kin is looking to break free of the clinch but Schultz has double underhooks. Schultz gets through Kin's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Schultz lands a right hand. Schultz drops Kin on his ass with a big knee up the middle! Kin bounces straight back to his feet before the referee can even start a count. We'll have to wait a moment to see if that actually hurt him or not, as he takes the standing 8 count.
Kin is rocked! Kin keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Schultz. Oh Kin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Kin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Kin uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Schultz cracks Kin with a left hand that drops him to the canvas, up against the ropes! Can Kin get back up in time? 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... he's on one knee... 8, 9... he's up! 'Walk towards me' says the referee. Kin looks steady enough to continue so we're going to continue! Schultz throws a jab when Kin was well out of range. Kin throws a big shot that misses. Schultz throws an overhand right that lands on Kin's shoulder, as Kin tries to avoid the shot. Schultz rushes Kin and presses him up against the ropes. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Dutch Schultz dominated that round. The cut man is working on Berto Kin's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Schultz scores a flash knockdown with a right hook that drops Kin to his hands and knees! The ref pushes Schultz away as he looks to land an illegal blow. Kin got an extra few seconds to recover there, which could have made all the differences as he stumbles back to his feet. The referee looks into his eyes and decides to allow the bout to continue. Can he survive?! A big left from Kin misses. Kin walks straight into a perfectly timed right hook, crumpling him to the floor! Kin is in all kinds of trouble here - can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7,8,9....10 - he's out and it's by a long way too - he didn't ever look like beating that count!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Dutch Schultz! A very excited looking Dutch Schultz made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
