Doe comes to the cage accompanied by Clap For The Killers. Both these fighters are unbeaten, so somebody's 0 has got to go! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Doe!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Derwent Bolt!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Darius Henderson and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doe jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
John Doe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Doe takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Doe with a nice calf kick.
Doe looks to land a right hand but Bolt moved out of range.
Bolt throws out a counter right but Doe avoids it with no problem.
Bolt takes a jab right on the kisser.
Doe looks to score with a jab to the body but Bolt is just out of range.
Bolt on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Doe misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bolt.
Bolt feints the counter takedown.
Doe misses with a straight right.
Bolt swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Doe rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Bolt counters with a straight right hand.
Doe throws a right hand that misses

and Bolt counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Doe!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bolt goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Doe has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bolt but great work by Doe.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bolt is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bolt wants to control but Doe postures up.
Bolt tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Doe wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
You can see the frustration on Bolt's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Doe has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
John Doe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Doe buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bolt takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Doe with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Doe has been working on his boxing with his coaches at SYDNEY ELITE GYM in the buildup to the fight.
Nice shot by Doe.
Doe jabs at Bolt's body.
Doe scores with a shot to the body.
Bolt has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Bolt gets cracked there but stands up to it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Doe. Bolt does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bolt throws out a counter right but Doe avoids it with no problem.
Doe misses with a low kick.
A little jabbing left from Bolt on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Nice cross by Doe.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Doe misses the body punch
and Doe takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

It looks like John Doe has been cut.
Doe throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Bolt bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Bolt now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Doe lands with a cross.
Jab from Doe.
An inside leg kick lands from Doe.
Doe lands with an uppercut that bounces Bolt off the cage and back into range.
Bolt walks into a straight right hand from Doe.
Doe is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Doe misses with a few strikes there.
A decent looking cross lands there for Doe.
Doe lunges at Bolt with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Bolt's hand.
Bolt has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Doe finds it's way round the side to connect with Bolt's head.
Doe fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bolt has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bolt takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Bolt is rocked!
Doe clobbers Bolt with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Bolt is still on wobbly legs! Can Doe finish him?
Doe drops Bolt with a naaaaasty hook - Bolt is in real trouble here! Doe dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Doe!
John Doe retains his light heavyweight title!
John Doe decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
