Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Greg Connor (ranked 85 p4p, 547 weight class) and Anthony Merel (ranked 8 p4p, 58 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Connor might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Cherub Rock. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Greg Connor!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Merel!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Matheus Silva and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connor ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A little feinted left hand from Connor on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
A big right from Merel misses.
Connor misses with a hook. Merel ducked under it nicely.
Merel with the counter takedown but Connor avoids it easily.
Connor connects with a good right hand that stumbles Merel. Merel circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

It looks like Anthony Merel has been cut.

Merel jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Connor is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Connor and Merel has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Merel dives in and grabs Connor's left leg, looking for a takedown. Connor pushes down on Merel's head and hops out.
Merel catches Connor with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

and Connor counters with a huge left! Merel is in big trouble! He's backing up but Connor isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Merel from any more damage. A dominating finish by Connor!

A less than humble Greg Connor misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
