The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blow has a takedown stuffed. Blow tries to close the distance and clinch but Gallagher swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Blow will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Greg Gallagher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Blow. Blow fails to land the takedown. Gallagher tries to clinch up but Blow circles away and keeps his distance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blow shoots in looking for a takedown. Gallagher tries to sprawl out of it but Blow keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gallagher manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Gallagher throws a left and a right that both miss
and Blow counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Gallagher pushes Blow off but Blow dives into side control.
Blow tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Blow has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Gallagher tries to buck Blow off but Blow is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gallagher is working hard here to advance position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gallagher explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Gallagher is breathing heavily. Blow changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gallagher tries to avoid it but Blow manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gallagher to the ground. Gallagher escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Gallagher misses with a body shot
and Blow counters with a single leg into guard. Gallagher didn't expect that. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gallagher wants to sweep but no luck. Blow trying to control the position from guard on top but Gallagher is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gallagher is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Blow is controlling him. Gallagher not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Blow fails to land the takedown. Blow shoots in and drives through. Gallagher sprawls well. Blow blocks a head kick by Gallagher.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Blow looks for a takedown but Gallagher sprawls well. Blow fails with the takedown. Blow shoots for a double leg takedown but Gallagher sprawls well. He's pushed Blow's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Blow closes the distance looking to clinch and Gallagher counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Blow is lucky that one didn't land flush. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Blow dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!

and Blow counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Blow with a poor takedown and Gallagher counters with a two punch combo. Gallagher throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Greg Gallagher is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gallagher throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Blow.
Blow is rocked!
It looks like Joe Blow has been cut. Blow darts in trying to clinch and Gallagher counters with a big head kick but Blow shrugs it off. Blow is still on wobbly legs! Can Gallagher finish him? Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Blow feints and as Gallagher raises his hands in defense, Blow changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Blow seems to have recovered his senses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blow stands up from guard. Let's bang! Blow drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gallagher is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Blow has just dragged him back down to the mat. Blow tries for a kimura but Gallagher is defending well. Blow lands an elbow. Blow has hold of Gallagher's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Gallagher tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Blow cranks the arm and Gallagher screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Gallagher, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
