Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Derrick Stevens (ranked 4915 p4p, 4919 weight class) and Christopher Robinson (ranked 586 p4p, 587 weight class). Derrick Stevens has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Derrick Stevens! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Christopher Robinson! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Alexandre Firmino and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stevens leaves Robinson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Stevens tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Robinson swivels and escapes. Stevens closes the distance and clinches up with Robinson, looking for a takedown. Stevens pushes Robinson against the cage but Robinson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Stevens tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Robinson defends well and Stevens ends up having to push Robinson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Despite the aggression on Robinson's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Derrick Stevens. That's going to take a lot out of him. Robinson tries to score a body lock takedown but Stevens shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Stevens effectively controlling the action here. Stevens putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Robinson in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Robinson has Stevens pressed against the cage, preventing Stevens from circling away and getting back to striking at range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Robinson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Stevens after a bit of a struggle. Stevens stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Robinson jumps guard and drags Stevens to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stevens wants to get up but he can't break Robinson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Stevens's corner is telling him to maintain position. Stevens trying to control but Robinson is working from the bottom. Stevens working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Robinson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stevens tries to avoid it but Robinson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stevens to the ground. Stevens escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Stevens is looking to counter with head kicks. Stevens moves into the clinch successfully.
Robinson tries to score a body lock takedown but Stevens shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Robinson is working for takedown but Stevens is calmly controlling the position for now. Stevens is struggling to control the position. Stevens effectively controlling the action here. Stevens gets a warning from the ref for wasting time. Stevens fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Stevens pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Robinson tries to clinch up and Stevens counters with a head kick that drops Robinson to the mat! Robinson scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

That's three minutes gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Stevens. Robinson is still on wobbly legs! Can Stevens finish him? Robinson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Robinson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Stevens pinned against the cage. Stevens gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Stevens misses with a takedown attempt and Robinson counters with a straight right hand. Robinson seems to have recovered his senses. Robinson leaves Stevens with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Stevens keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Stevens lands a front kick. Robinson looks for a takedown but Stevens sprawls well. Stevens changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Robinson tries to clinch and Stevens counters with a deadly accurate combination that rocks Robinson badly! He tries to strike back but Stevens puts an end to that with another precision combo that knocks Robinson out cold! Oh man, Robinson will never hear the end of this one!
