Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Quin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 16 - 3, fighting out of Helsinki, Finnish Experiment!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quin throws a jab when Experiment was well out of range.
Quin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Experiment steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Quin.
Experiment moves away from the strike by Quin.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Experiment! But no joy.
Experiment blocks a jab.
A little jabbing left from Experiment on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Quin throws a body shot but no joy.
Experiment now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Good exchange - Quin coming out on top.
Quin uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Experiment.
Quin connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Experiment has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

and Experiment takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Experiment moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Experiment tries to move into range but Quin moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

We've been told by Quin's head coaches at Outlier Martial Arts that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Experiment throws a lazy right hand but Quin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Quin is looking to counter punch.
Quin dips to his left and cracks Experiment with an uppercut!
Experiment slips a straight right by Quin.
Experiment lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Quin cracks Experiment with an open hand slap.
Quin throws a lazy uppercut
and Experiment counters with a slapping leg kick.
Experiment blocks a jab.
Quin jabs at Experiment's body.

Experiment clinches up with Quin and pushes him back against the cage.
Quin is trying to pull guard but Experiment turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Experiment.
Quin takes an elbow to the temple.
Experiment lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Quin.
Quin is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Quin manages to break the clinch.
Quin throws a hook to the side of Experiment's head but Experiment sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Experiment wants to counter the offense by Quin and move into the clinch position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Experiment counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Quin's corner calls for a 1-2. Quin obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Quin. Experiment does a little dance to reset his feet.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Experiment! But no joy.
Quin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Experiment.
A countering left hand to the body from Experiment misses.
Experiment uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Quin.
Quin jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Experiment cracks Quin with a good jab.
Quin throws a lazy uppercut
and Experiment counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
James Quin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Quin throws a shot from downtown. Experiment moves away and avoids it.
Quin lands a nice looking body shot.
Quin throws the left hand but Experiment avoids the punch easily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

and Experiment counters with a nice right hand that sends Quin toppling to the canvas! Quin scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Experiment finish him?!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

In his post fight interview, Finnish Experiment started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
