Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edson Bidon Barbosa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jerry Azumah!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Azumah connects with a solid leg kick.
Barbosa has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Azumah ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Azumah missing with a left hand there. Barbosa was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Barbosa appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Barbosa looks for the body kick but Azumah saw that one coming.
A big left from Azumah misses.
Azumah throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Barbosa sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Azumah ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Barbosa moves away.

Barbosa ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Azumah moves away.

Azumah changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Azumah connects with a nice looking jab.
Barbosa chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Azumah can pounce on him.

Azumah throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Azumah scores with a jab to the jaw.
Barbosa takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Azumah swings for the body but Barbosa moves out of range.

Jerry Azumah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Azumah fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Barbosa has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Azumah scores with a hook to the body. Barbosa takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Azumah fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Barbosa gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Azumah.
Azumah lands with a thumping leg kick.
Azumah throws a jab but it's blocked by Barbosa.
Barbosa throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Azumah takes a swing at Barbosa's ribcage but misses.
That kick from Azumah tenderised Barbosa's leg. Barbosa is trying to keep his angry face on.
Azumah swings for the body but Barbosa moves out of range.
Barbosa stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Azumah.
Azumah comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Barbosa avoids the body shot from Azumah.

A low kick from Azumah is predictable there
and Barbosa cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Azumah misses with a hook to the body
and Barbosa counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Barbosa swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Barbosa on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Azumah takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Barbosa defending well as Azumah loads up on a big left hand.
Barbosa was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
A head kick misses from Barbosa.
Azumah is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Barbosa.
Azumah lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Donk. Barbosa catches Azumah right on the button with a cross.

Barbosa swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

And Barbosa counters with a quick kick to the body but Azumah blocks it.
Barbosa is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Azumah walks into a jab.
Azumah throws out a loose jab but Barbosa uses good head movement to avoid it.
Azumah fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A solid leg kick lands there for Azumah.
That kick from Azumah tenderised Barbosa's leg. Barbosa is trying to keep his angry face on.
Barbosa scores with a nice head shot.
Azumah is rocked!
It looks like Jerry Azumah has been cut.
Azumah walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Barbosa checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Azumah is still on wobbly legs! Can Barbosa finish him?
Azumah swings widly with a right hand
and Barbosa counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Azumah is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Barbosa doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Azumah crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Azumah's bad books for that mishap!
