PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Edmonds (ranked 2077 p4p, 1918 weight class) and Vladimir Tarlac (ranked 302 p4p, 284 weight class). Edmonds comes to the cage accompanied by Frankie Smith - Double Dutch Bus. Tarlac has chosen Nobody Knows- The Tony RIch Project as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Edmonds!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vladimir Tarlac!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edmonds connects with a looping right hand.
No joy there for Edmonds, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Tarlac throws a combination that misses
and Edmonds cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Tarlac tries to bum rush Edmonds with a series of wild strikes but Edmonds uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Tarlac misses with a few strikes there.
Tarlac scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Tarlac misses with a low kick.
Edmonds swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Edmonds shoots in but Tarlac avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Tarlac takes one to the chin there.
Some bone on bone action there as Edmonds checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Edmonds darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
A jab lands there for Edmonds.
Edmonds is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Tarlac rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Edmonds moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Edmonds counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tarlac won't be happy with that.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Edmonds swings around for an armbar but Tarlac sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Edmonds's guard.

Edmonds is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Tarlac is aware though and is defending well.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Edmonds holds on and takes a little breather.

My spies in MONEY TEAM!!! inform me that Tarlac has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Tarlac must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

It looked like Edmonds was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Tarlac.

Tarlac throws a strike but Edmonds rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Edmonds not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Well Edmonds has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
