Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 2, fighting out of New York, James Cole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Koichi Kamei!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kamei throws a hook but Cole avoids it easily.
Kamei misses with a combination
enabling Cole to counter with a crisp jab.
Kamei rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Kamei takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Cole throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kamei.
It seemed like Kamei was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
A telegraphed right hand from Kamei misses the target.
Cole lands a big head kick that sends Kamei tumbling to the mat! Cole takes a step backwards and waves Kamei back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Kamei is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cole steps in with a hook that catches Kamei right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Cole follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Kamei looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Cole!
In his post fight interview, James Cole started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
