PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Moltisanti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Christopher Moltisanti was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Armstrong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Christopher Moltisanti!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armstrong lands a left and a right that sends Moltisanti crashing to the canvas! Armstrong dives into mount looking to finish!


Moltisanti is rocked!


It looks like Christopher Moltisanti has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Armstrong is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Moltisanti is still in real trouble! Can Armstrong finish him?
Armstrong content just to control the position here.
Armstrong wants to get back to his feet but Moltisanti is holding on tight.
Moltisanti seems to have recovered his senses.
Moltisanti has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Armstrong's lack of action.
Armstrong has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Moltisanti works to full guard.
Armstrong knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Moltisanti on the ground.

Armstrong would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Armstrong wants to stand and escape but instead Moltisanti has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Armstrong on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Armstrong tries to get out of the position.
Moltisanti with a nice head shot there.
Armstrong is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Moltisanti is controlling him.

Moltisanti thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Armstrong is wriggling around but Moltisanti manages to pass to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Armstrong is trying to stand up here but Moltisanti is controlling him well.
Armstrong is breathing heavily.
Moltisanti throwing shots but Armstrong is blocking nicely.
Moltisanti frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Moltisanti with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Armstrong's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Armstrong trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Moltisanti postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Armstrong looks a forlorn figure.
Armstrong in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Armstrong squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Moltisanti wants to finish this one by submission but Armstrong is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Moltisanti.
Moltisanti won't let Armstrong get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Armstrong has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Moltisanti scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Armstrong holding both Moltisanti 's hands and preventing any damage.

Moltisanti has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Armstrong! Can he survive? No! He's out! Moltisanti gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Christopher Moltisanti!
