Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rich Mahogany (ranked 1409 p4p, 1918 weight class) and Erik Eriksson (ranked 214 p4p, 268 weight class). Mahogany comes into the arena with Litty blaring out of the sound system. Eriksson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Scarlet - End in blood. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rich Mahogany!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Erik Eriksson!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eriksson checks a leg kick.
Mahogany darts in looking for a takedown but Eriksson gets double underhooks and turns Mahogany into the cage.
Eriksson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A head kick by Mahogany misses
and Eriksson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Eriksson misses the shot to the body.
Mahogany is looking to counter with a body kick.
Rich Mahogany seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Eriksson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mahogany.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mahogany drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Mahogany happy to just control the position for now.
Eriksson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mahogany. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mahogany is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Eriksson has escaped the position, nice work there.
Mahogany looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Mahogany goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Eriksson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mahogany but great work by Eriksson.
Mahogany wants to control but Eriksson postures up.
Mahogany is not content to let Eriksson control the position.
Mahogany is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Eriksson off and has taken his back!

Eriksson felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Mahogany is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Eriksson defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Mahogany is looking for the choke from the back position but Eriksson is controlling his hands well.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Mahogany has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Eriksson! Can he survive? No! He's out! Mahogany gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Rich Mahogany!
Rich Mahogany decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
