The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kennedy lands with an overhand left.
Tanaka has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Tanaka throws a lazy uppercut
and Kennedy counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Tanaka misses with an uppercut. Kennedy saw that one coming.
Tanaka connects with a crisp jab.
Kennedy misses the jab.
Tanaka keeps the fight on the outside.
Tanaka connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kennedy. Kennedy circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kennedy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tanaka swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Tanaka is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Kennedy with a body shot.

Tanaka throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Kennedy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kennedy looks to throw the jab but Tanaka is out of range.
Tanaka connects with a nice looking jab.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Tanaka, as that shot connected.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kennedy scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Tanaka connects with a crisp jab.
Kennedy looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Kennedy displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Tanaka throws out the jab.
Kennedy lands with a nice body punch.
Tanaka throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kennedy is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Tanaka misses with a hook
and Kennedy counters with a one-two to the body.
Tanaka fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kennedy manages to avoid it.
Tanaka throws a lazy uppercut
and Kennedy scores with a counter punch that sends Tanaka to the canvas! Kennedy smells blood - he's punishing Tanaka with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Tanaka has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
