Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Douglas Mcdough!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rico Ruiz!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcdough paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Ruiz is looking to clinch but Mcdough is avoiding it.
Ruiz takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Mcdough has closed the distance and engaged Ruiz in a clinch.
Ruiz goes for a takedown in the clinch but Mcdough prevents it.

Mcdough manages to break the clinch.

Mcdough shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Mcdough controlling his opponent.

Mcdough jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Ruiz manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Mcdough lands a nice forearm strike.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mcdough thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Mcdough has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Mcdough is breathing heavily.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Ruiz!
Ruiz shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Mcdough counters by moving into the clinch.

Mcdough breaks from the clinch.
Ruiz wants to clinch

and Mcdough counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ruiz manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ruiz looking to control but Mcdough is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Mcdough is trying to escape the mount.

Ruiz jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Mcdough manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Ruiz trying to control the position but Mcdough is working away.
Ruiz working away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ruiz has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Mcdough tries to lock up and control but Ruiz gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Ruiz has control of Mcdough's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Mcdough regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Ruiz is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Mcdough has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Ruiz trying to control but he's not successful this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Ruiz working for a guillotine from mount but Mcdough is in no mood to give up.
Mcdough tries to hold on but Ruiz pushes him away.

Mcdough has left one of his arms exposed and Ruiz doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Mcdough screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
